H2O = Gratitude (2) and Love (1)
We are what we believe. Our thoughts create our perceptions, the lens through which we create our reality or worldview. In turn, our reality determines our actions. And the results of our actions reflect our beliefs!
We attract what we vibrate — what we believe. There are many books and films now that generate a great deal of attention — “The Secret” is an example of this — but remember Dr. Norman Vincent Peale? “The Power of Positive Thinking” — I have a pamphlet of Dr. Peale’s I’ve saved and hung on the bulletin board over my desk for about 15 years now — and the message is the same. Positive thinking, positive energy, positive vibration, prayer, healing, affirmations, gratitude, love, forgiveness, letting go — is a common thread running through teachings I’ve found very important in my own journey, from “The Course in Miracles” to “You Can Heal Your Life” (the powerful work of Louise Hay) to the wonderful work of Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Esther and Jerry Hicks, and many others.
Tonight I attended a seminar held by Dr. Masaru Emoto, the author of “The Power of Water” and many other works. The theory is simple, the evidence compelling. Our bodies are about 70% water. Water, when exposed to the positive energy of love and gratitude for example, forms beautiful crystals when frozen. When exposed to negative energy crystals either do not form at all or are dark and mutated in appearance. This is an extreme oversimplification of Dr. Emoto’s work, but it gets the point across. If I bombard my body with negative thinking, the water I am composed of will react negatively and that will affect my mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health. If I bless my body with positive emotions and thoughts, the water will react with positive energetic vibrations resulting in total well-being.
If I choose love and gratitude, and do my best to practice that attitude, I am likely to experience positive results. If I give, I will receive, many times over. Paradoxical? Yup. True? Yup. Think of the love between a mother and child. Pure, unconditional, freely given and returned exponentially. There are examples all around us of this truth all the time.
It seems so simple. Along the lines of “how could it possibly be that simple?” Where I internalized the belief that a theory has to be complicated to be valid I’m not sure (now there’s a subject for a whole series of posts someday), but I no longer buy it. Many of the truths that resonate in my reality these days are very simple and powerful. In fact the simpler the better I’m finding.
Dr. Emoto has a lovely yin/yang view of Water — two molecules of passive energy (hydrogen = prayer) and one molecule of love (oxygen = love). Water is the physical manifestation of Love and Gratitude. The beautiful gift of our Creator. Essential to all forms of life on earth.
Water: H2O = Love + Gratitude. Drink up and pass it around!
